Ruben Creemers
Ruben Creemers is a Dutch multidisciplinary artist and graphic designer whose practice is built on a lifelong relationship with image, imagination, and the blurring of boundaries between disciplines.
From an early age, Creemers was drawn to visual expression in all its forms — from coloured pencils and paint to graffiti, mural art, photography, illustration, and typography. This broad foundation shaped a career of more than twenty years as a graphic designer and art director, working within the logic of strategy, brand, and communication. Throughout that time, the need for a different kind of making — free from compromise, driven by intuition — remained constant.
His fine art practice is the answer to that need. In it, Creemers pursues a personal visual language in which experimentation takes precedence and the outcome is never predetermined. His recent work explores the dissolution of boundaries between painting and sculpture, with brushstrokes that exist without a frame, without a fixed composition, without a background.
Digital and analogue merge in his practice, as naturally as form and intuition. The result is a body of work that is constantly in motion — a dialogue between tradition and innovation, between structure and release — that invites the viewer to embrace the unknown alongside the artist.
